Rail Europe, the travel website to book your rail tickets to Europe, has just launched its Fall Promotions campaign. The campaign is applicable on entire rail passes as well as on point to point tickets that generally comprises of discounts between 20 to 60 percent off the regular prices. Read on to know about specific offers.

Rail Passes:
• Eurail Global and Select Passes are available at a discount of 20 percent. Tickets for these went on sale on November 1 and will be available until the end of the year. These tickets are valid for travel up to March 31, 2014.

• France Rail Passes also come with a 20 percent discount under the promotional offer. The discount period for this will last until November 30 and you can book your travel until June 30, 2014.

• The German Rail Pass also comes with a 20 percent discount on the 7-8-9-10-day Passes and free city cards that also feature certain bonuses. This pass is available for sale until December 7, 2013 but the travel booking period is only until January 31, 2014.

• Refreshingly, the site is also offering BritRail and BritRail England Passes at 20 percent discount rates. These can be bought up to February 15, 2014 with the travel period capped until February 28, 2014.

• There is also a Swiss Pass that gives travellers an extra day of train travel on purchase of the four-day pass. This offer can be availed until December 27, 2013 but the travel period with this offer is restricted until December 31, 2013. There is also a Swiss Peak Pass on offer that offers unlimited access in conjunction with a valid 4-day or 8-day Swiss Pass to the mountain trains and/or cable cars of the site’s partners’ peaks. The latter offer is available for a longer period. You can book the Swiss Peak Pass well into 2014 up to December 15, 2014. These will be valid for travel from January 1 to December 23, 2014.

Besides these trains, the RailEurope website is also offering steep discounts on some popular high-speed trains that crisscross the continent. I particularly love the 2 hour Thalys train ride between Paris and Brussels that is being offered for only 25 euros in second class and 69 euros in first class. The other one that caught my fancy was the TGV Lyria running between Paris and various cities in Switzerland for only 30 euros in second class and 55 euros in first class.

All these offers are available for a limited time, so travellers are advised to buy their passes and/ or point to point tickets as soon as possible. More details are available on www.raileurope.co.in.
